Interbase for Linux

In the Winsock page of the Communication Diagnostic Tool, I can connect to the gds_db successfully through the IP address ?

But, the in the DB Connection page, the program said that it is failed to locate host machine ! Why ? How can I solve this problem ?

You cannot connect to an InterBase database through the
IP address, because the system tries to resolve this address
to the IP-Address. It does not know that you didn't enter
the symbolic name but the IP address. In order to resolve
the symbolic name to an IP address try adding the appropriate
line to the hosts file of your OS. In Win95 it is in the windows
directory and in NT in winnt\system32\drivers\etc. The file
lmhosts.sam is an example file, not used by the system.
