I don't know if the question is difficult to answer. It may be a detail i've overseen.
Excuse my English, I'm Flemish.

It's common problem and I've seen it (too) many times. It differs a bit with which error exactly occurs, but it probably (referring to your question) is "License Information for This Component Not Found". You should look at this reference:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q177/7/99.asp or search support.microsoft.com/support for "license" under "Visual basic".
You don't oversee a detail. The solution is difficult enough and reinstalling is not a solution here. You have to use regsvr32 and do some other things as well.

If you have trouble implementing the solution provided, please post your comments here and I'll try to help you further.

By the way:
I'm Dutch (for the ones that don't know, that usually means that I understand Flemish as well...).
If you have difficulty in reading/writing English I can help you with it or translate words/sentences for others reading this question. Meaning: write in Dutch/Flemish if you like/need to.

Hi friends,
I also face the same problem.I am using both Windows95 and Windows NT4.0 in my computer. I installed VB5.0 Enterprise in both OS. I find this problem in NT only. I am also confused and searching for Microsoft Knowledge base etc.
Can any one please help me also.
Thanks,
Suresh

Suresh,
Have you tried the article of the KB I suggested? And did it work for you?

Problem resolved.
I went to http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q177/7/99.asp, the solution given there was not working. I had to go to Q181854
to find the solution. The downloaded program works for common dialog.
Thanks for the help! This system works. I will recommend it to my friends.

Regards,
Marion

Ah, VBC.EXE. I read about it.
Good that it works now and good to hear that you like this system (E-E).

Glad that I could be of some help to you.
