Problems with DBGRID and Excel 5.0;

My problem is the next, I load an excel file like a database with the data control. I link a dbgrid to the datacontrol. The dbgrid doesn´t load a field since the one hundred record. This field is text in its first records and then it change to a numeric field, but it dissapear. When a change to Excell I can see the field has its data, but when I load it with the data control and the dbgrid strange things starts to happen. Like this. Also the vertical scroll bar dissapears and I can't see any information on the table.
I made a findfirst transaction between code. When the record is found it can be seen on the dbggrid. On the other hand, the number of records or lines of the Excel file is 2000. What would be happening?

Thanks Hans. I used the connect-string and it solved the most of the problem, but I still have a missing field after the line 99. In its first part this field is used as an string, later it is used as numeric. The first part appear, and the next part dissapear. Can you give me more commets?

Another thing happen. The Excel file was modified and I didn't made some code to modify it. The field that doesn't appear is the same that was changed in the original file. It dissapear to. It would be problem of the dbgrid of visual or the Excel program?

Thank you Hans. I have found the mistake. The format of the columns in the Excel file changed between the column. I established the same format for the colum and it works. The contain of it appared. Thank you again.
