Is their a utility you can load to check for new mail on a MS Mail 3.5 server in Windows 95 as opposed to having Exchange or Outlook open all the time as this takes up resources. I don't need to read the mail just know whether mail has arrived

It is a very small program that runs in the systray and will alert you when mail arrives. There are also many other programs available for mail, both internet and Local mail.
