RichEdit sample that has background image

I want to find a cool richedit control sample that has
background bitmap image.

There isn't one, because the control doesn't do that AFAIK.

You can simulate the appearance by having a normal RichEdit control, capturing it into a bitmap and then doing a color bitblt of the background onto your image, then the bitmap on top of that.

There's code to do a transparent BitBlt about pp813 (chapter 12) of Programming Windows 95 with MFC, by Jeff Prosise, Microsoft Press 1996, ISBN 1-55615-902-1

If you hide the real RichEdit and put the caret (the flashing vertical line) ontop of the bitmap, you can make it look like a real one.

Please note the background won't scroll automatically, you'll have to handle that yourself (if you want it to scroll)
