I want to populate/update a large table at night. I want to know the code structure or MSSQL features to be used for this. I am having a stored procedure for this purpose which is to be run at midnight.

Do we have any timer kind of facility which can trigger the run of stored procedure.

I would like to see some sample code lines.
Thanks.

Go to MS SQL Enterprise Manager;
go to Server;
go to Scheduled Tasks .... ;
New Task;

Then you give a name, choose a type for the task ( if you want to execute a SP, you should select TSQL), choose database.
If you have already had a SP written, then, type:
"exec my_sp" in the command text edit box

Choose Recurring if you want the task to be executed from time to time.
You should have asked this question in MS-SQL section. That way you can get a faster reponse!
