I'm trying to get Perl set up on my Win95 system and play with some old code that was running on in a Unix environment.  I've got Perl 5.004 all set up, but I have been looking and looking for an Xbase.pm module that I can download FOR WINDOWS.  All the ones I've found have been in .tar or .tar.gz format and this isn't working well.   PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET THIS MODULE FOR WIN95!!!!

I'm honestly not sure if xbase.pm works, but you can find out by downloading the .tar.gz
WinZip knows how to handle tar's and tar.gz's.

By the way, you'll need to download and install the DBI module first.

I tried that.  I downloaded the file from a number of different sites and when I've opened them, WinZip returns an error saying there was something wrong with the file.  So, if you can find a file to download and open it yourself and it works, let me know.  Otherwise, I need another suggestion.

(And yes Xbase.pm does work)

This is almost certainly a bug in netscape.  Netscape strips the .gz from the file when it download it as a click.  Go to your temp directory, rename DBD-XBase-0_065_tar.tar
to DBD-XBase-0_065_tar.tar.gz and then winzip will take care of it (actually, it will tell you that DBD-XBase-0_065_tar.tar.gz contains one file, and ask whether it should undo it to a temp directory, and then deal with that.  Answer yes).
