Mssgs already sent don´t transfer from Outbox to Sent Items

In Outlook Express, after a message is prepared and sent, it remains in the Outbox.  It does not go automatically from the Outbox to the Sent Items directory.  I have to manually delete it from the Outbox.  Is there a patch available to correct this? I already uninstalled Outlook Express and re-installed it, and the same problem is still there.
I got it when downloaded the Explorer from the Shareware site.
