I can answer the first Question: Install Tweakui (its on the Windows 98 CD)
D:\tools\reskit\powertoy
In this directory right click tweakui.inf and select install.
Now a tweakui icon will appear in the control panel. Open it and select the add-remove tab. Now remove the entry of the program you already have installed.
