Xerox Able 3401

I have installed this network printer.  All seems ok but I do not have the option to fax from client computers to this printer.  The fax option (Fax Unit) under the printers tab is dimmed.  We do have a fax unit attached to this printer, but I am unable to select it, anyone know why?

Does the printer (copier) itself recognize that the fax unit is installed?
Usually the fax module will require a separate software faxing component to be installed in addition to just the printer driver.  The additional software handles the creation of a coverpage, phonebooks, and other advanced features.

It is  also quite possible (and more likely) that the revision of your print-driver was released before the fax capability was "perfected" and released to be sold.  It could be that your answer lies in just obtaining an updated print driver.
