How to put a Status Bar on a ListView

I am trying to insert a Status Bar within a ListView and a TreeView, but am having no luck.  Has anyone been able to do this

You cannot really insert a status bar within a listview. The common controls (like most other controls) assume it will paint the entire client area. But, that does not mean it cannot be simulated. Instead of using a list view, use a regular CView. In the view, create two children: a list control and a status control. Then when the view resizes, you need to get the rectangle size for the view and move the list control and status control to where they should be. This allows you simulate the view having two controls.
