I have a link for a quiz on our intranet site and have two applications both developed using ActiveX technology.  Now determining if the user is using ie3 or 4 I need that link to determine the version and go to the application that fits that browser version.  Is there a way to do this?

Assuming you're asking how to detect which browser a person is using and then reprogram the link, here's some browser detection code written in JavaScript with results for a variety of browsers:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML//EN">
<HTML>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
</head>

<body topmargin=0 leftmargin=0 bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">
<script language="JavaScript">
<!--
var VersionNumber = parseInt( navigator.appVersion ) * 1000;

document.write( "<BR>"+"navigator.appName [" + navigator.appName + "]<BR>" );
document.write( "navigator.appVersion [" + navigator.appVersion + "]<BR>" );
document.write( "Converted version " + VersionNumber + "<BR><BR>" );
// -->
</script>
</body>
</HTML>

Results are:----
For Microsoft IE 3.02
navigator.appName [Microsoft Internet Explorer]
navigator.appVersion [2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.02; Update a; Windows 95)]
Converted version 2000

For IE 4.0
navigator.appName [Microsoft Internet Explorer]
navigator.appVersion [4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows NT)]
Converted version 4000

For Netscape Navigator 3.01
navigator.appName [Netscape]
navigator.appVersion [3.01 (Win95; I)]
Converted version 3000

For Netscape Navigator 3.03 Gold
navigator.appName [Netscape]
navigator.appVersion [3.03Gold (Win95; I)]
Converted version 3000

For Netscape 4.04
navigator.appName [Netscape]
navigator.appVersion [4.04 [en] (WinNT; I)]
Converted version 4000

Is this what you wanted, or do you need more specific code that uses the browser version to upload a particular page?
