Corruption of the printer drivers is the likely reason.
If you reinstall them everything should work properly.

I've already tried that. However, I only installed the original drivers from the original Canon disks. When I try to install from my Windows 95 CD I get a file not found message. I'm wondering if I should run setup and reinstall Windows 95?

Why not try getting new drivers from Canon web site.

I reinstalled Windows 95 and that solved the problem. You were right in the first place, obviously the printer driver somehow went bad.  Thanks anyway
