I am using a True DB Grid to display the resultset. The grid is bound to a RDC. One of the columns which is numeric(5,2) if it were to have its contents cleared, at the time of saving gives the error message 'VB no Char.' I am connected to Oracle. Please let me know how to get around this.

The problem is that the field you are connected to will not allow you to enter a null value such as "" or no value in that collumn.  There are several ways around this, you can change the field, which may be a problem if you are attached to Oracle and cannot change that field's structure.  Second you could build a validate routine to ensure that the field will not be blank before you try to save it, by making it a zero "0".

Thank you. That's what I had been thinking too.
