How can i import new fonts into Adobe Photoshop?

It depends on whether you are working on a Macintosh or PC, but once the fonts are installed on your system (i.e. copied to the appropriate fonts folder), they should be available to Photoshop.

am working on a pc.
i did install it in the system in the fonts folder but it was not available in Photoshop but available in Word.

To install a font, click on it and save it to your hard disk. Now unzip the file. Open Control Panel and open the Fonts folder, select Install New Font... from the file menu, then select the directory in which you unzipped the font. The name of the font should appear
- select it and then click OK.

you were right.  
i must have kept my pc on suspend mode for so long after having installed the new fonts and never restarted my PC and thought that it didn't work, till i checked recently.
