In Moray for Win95 the mfc42.dll constantly causes the program to crash. Any fix or replacements? Moray info says I can delete it's version in favour of C:\windows\system\mfc42.dll, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Both .dlls are identical...what gives?

MFC42.DLL is a standard DLL used by programs written with the Microsoft Foundation Classes.

Lot's of these programs do not crash (example: Microsoft Developer Studio 4.2).

When you get a crash the place where the crash occured (name of DLL or EXE) is displayed.  This DLL is not necessarily responsible.  For example, the the DLL may be passed "bad" data or used incorrectly, or perhaps you might run out of memory (or other resources).  It also possible for a device driver to cause a crash.

The most likely explanation is the that there is a bug in Moray.   Which means you should be going after them, rather than anybody else.

If you can find a sequence of actions which consistently causes the crash, and can report this sequence, this may help their programmers in fixing the bug.

thanks...I'll check that out. Perhaps a clean reinstall is in order? (Assuming, that is, I can chase down this bug....)

'preciate the help!
