Whenever I activate Partical Storm under the objects tab, the object in Layout disapears and I can never get anything to happen.  How do I use this plug-in?

I am not sure exactly what you are asking, but it seems to me that you are trying to activate Particle Storm by using the displacement plug-in only. Particle Storm works via modules, and the most important one of these, PSCreate, is under the Options/Generic Plugins menu. I really can't go into all the details of using Particle Storm Create at the moment, as it is best you experiment and figure it out yourself, but it is HERE that you create your particle object (you can load a modeller object file as a particle emitter here) and save it out. Then, you load the saved-out file into the Objects menu, and under the displacement plugins, choose particle storm. When you save out your particle object in PSCREATE, it will also save out a filename.PSM file. Load this now (there is a LOAD PSM FILE button). Your particle object should be ready. Particle Storm is an inredible, albeit complex plugin. Experiment, and ask for some more specific help if the need arises.
