Word 97 CD Key

I am moving my software from one computer to another.  I have not installed it on the second computer yet, but have it only installed on one computer because the setup screen on the second computer asks for a CD Key I cannot find.  It says the key number is 11 digits long and found on the back of the MS Word CD Case.  I bought Word 97 w/ Home Essentials and the only sticker on the back of the Jewel case is a 9 digit number.  Is there a way to find out what cd-key number was accepted on the computer that Word is currently running on?  Is this stored in the registry?  I looked in the help menu and found the product number easily enough but cannot extract a useful 11 digit number from there.  I want to assure the person who answers this question I only want to legaly transfer the program from computer A to B.  Thanks

You indicated that you have a separate Word CD. Is there a CD Key on the back of the Home Essentials CD?

If not, send me an e-mail and I'll send you the answer. I'd rather not post it here because not everyone is interested in legally transferring software...

There is actualy not a seperate Word CD.  The Software comes bundled w/ the other home essentials software.  There is a 9 digit sticker on the back of the Essentials CD Case, which does me no good as you might imagine.  Thanks for your confidence in my legitimate intentions.  I assure they are true.  If you could help me out, the e-mail address is AJ2007@Juno.com  Thanks again.
Start the original installation of Word and go to the HELP menu.  Select "About Microsoft Word" to bring up the About dialogue box.  At the bottom of this box there is a Product ID number.  You should be able to use this number to re-install the software on a different computer.

Hope this helps,

Colleen, could you please send me the answer once more?  I did not recieve it when you last sent it to me.  Please send it to ajmandel@bigfoot.com   This way I am sure my e-mail client will not drop your message.  Thanks for your help, (I'll also increase the point value of the answer for the delay)
I have the same issue. I have home essentials 98, but it came with my old computer.  Is it illegal to install it onto my new computer?  If it is than forget it but if it isn;t than if you could help that would be great.
