Could you please tell me how to play AVIs from resource files in VB4 32. Code examples would be a great help if
this is possible. Making the .res file is not a problem,
the problem I have is calling the AVI from the resource
file.

check if this helps
create a resource file with the path to the AVI as string.
for example : id as 1, value 101, caption "c:\winnt\clock.avi"
include the resource file in to your project.
then try this code
Shell "C:\WINNT\System32\rundll32.exe C:\WINNT\System32\amovie.ocx,RunDll /play /close " & LoadResString(101), vbNormalFocus
101 is the id for the string.Replace 101 with the value for the caption which holds the path for the avi file.
