Autocad Print Problems

Can not plot to a HP Designjet 600 from autocad rel 14 when
I have an HP deskjet 820cse installed in windows 95.
I have set the phantom printer as the default printer in windows 95. When I plot my drawing Windows 95 always picks
the Deskjet printer.

Forget about the phantom printer, that is for printing OLE objects embeded within drawings, you need to use the AutoCAD ADI drivers.
Within AutoCAD select "tools, preferences" or type preferences at the command prompt.  Go to printer tab and add a new HPGL/2 printer, select the model from the list and port (lpt1?).  After you have finished set current.
Select Print and make sure the DesignJet ADI driver is selected.
If you have a Windows printer configured for the same port AutoCAD will tell you so and use that printer for spooling.  It does not matter if it is not a DJ600 driver, you can spool thru any driver, even Generic Text Only.  The warning about Windows printers only appears the first time you print (in each session of ACAD)
