dI'm trying to get into CMOS but can't. It goes so far and asks me for a password. I have never put a pass word into it . I have disconnected the power and removed the battery over night and get the same message (with the power button on or off It makes no differance.) Also tryed shorting across the battery terminals as it set over night still

First things first.

Type of Computer (ie brand name)
Brand of motherboard if known.
Desktop or laptop?
Try Del, F10, F1, Ctrl-Alt-Esc, depending on what brand you have.

I have a program that you can run called "KILLCMOS". It will restore any BIOs to factory defaults including removing the password.  I can send it to you if you want....
