i installed a copy of norton utils that i got from a cover cd and it reported that my drive (2.1 Gig Quantum Fireball) was 37% fragmented.
i was using the windows defrag as it supposedly makes progs load faster (via task monitor)
anyone had the same probs ?

Windows 98's version of defrag, although better than the 95 version, is still far from the best. Norton utilities uses completly different algorithims to determine the placement of files on your hard drive.   If you have the latest version of norton utilites (3.07)  it will be accurate.  3.07 adds support for the enhancements in win98.  if you are using an older version of norton, the number will be higher than it should.  In other words, use norton instead of microsoft.   Hope this helps
