Is there an easy way to store an objects properties in the registry, or in a file? I'm making an application where the user can select a standard font. How do I save information about the font without making an entry in the registry for each property? I would like to be able to do that to any object.

Hi red_2,

There is a shareware component just for that:

"... Auto re/store properties in file. TSaver component
is designed to store some or all properties form a form and all containing
components in text (standard INI) file. TSaver cares with automatic property
storage in file when the form is closed and for (ver. 1.0, added 2/3/97, no
     src.) " :

A free one:
"... WinSaver component help you to easily save
windows' property in your own applicatoin (ver. 1.2, added 5/6/96)
          by Kuan-Da Chen":

If you want to make it by yourself, take a look at thi:

"....Example of how to store a Component and its
properties to a disk file or a Blob field (ver. 1.01, added 6/26/98)
     by Theodoros Bebekis :"

IHTH,
