Installing an ISA Plug & Play modem - SVEC 56K/V.90

Weird problem when I install the new modem and restart windows detects the new hardware and prompts for the installation.  I install the drivers and after the installation is complete, the modem works fine until I shut the computer go away for a few hours and try to start the computer again at which time the copmuter will not boot up until I remove the newly installed modem.

Any help will be appreciated

In "Control Panels", remove the modem, and remove all the COM
ports (except for the COM port which your mouse uses).

Then, shutdown, power-off, power-on
and then reboot Windows, letting it "detect new hardware".
