Hi....
We Have NT4 and Option Pack 4 installed, We have created a forum for our newsgroup. People have posted items on it, but some of the postings have been user pranks... How do we delete these unwanted messages.
Thanks in advance

The solution to this problem is to moderate the newsgroup but that requires maintenance.

There are ways to send message delete messages but they are less than easy and often not honored.  The best way to delete the messages is to delete them on the news server (providing you have access to the server).

Otherwise I would just leave them and they will expire with the rest of the messages when they get old enough.

This depends on the newsgroup server software.  I might be able to figure it out if it was a Unix-based newsgroup server but if the newsgroup is hosted from an NT box then I doubt I can be of much help.  Sorry, maybe another expert can help you here.

Hi....
Errrr. I wuz wrong about it being a newsgroup, It is actually a Discusion Forum created with FrontPage 97.
sorry about that!
We would still like to know how to delete individual threads using the editor/explorer that comes with FrontPage.

If you have FrontPage 98 installed then all you need to do is to search for help on "discussion groups, moderating" and you get information on how edit the messages to contain things like "[message deleted]". The help advises against deleting them through the frontpage explorer so that you don't break the links in threaded discussions.
Not quite what you hoped for but at least it's a start
