Suppose that we have many logins to a server HTML form
with each user giving a user name and a password and then
clicking the submit button. How do we validate the input?
Do I have to use JDBC to find out who the user is and other
data about him. Can JavaScript be used here instead of Java

A) How do you want to validate the input? There are many, many ways to validate data.

Q) Do I have to use JDBC to find out who the user is and other data about him?
A) That depends upon whether or not the data is stored in a database.

Q) Can JavaScript be used here instead of Java?
A) It depends upon what you want to do.

Look, I plan to have a stored set of user names, user data, and a
password for each user. When the user logs in, i intend to
verify if login name matches with password and then identify the
user.
I hope this makes my question a little clearer.
Thanx
