Dial modem from IE3

I have Internet Explorer 3.0.
All od a sudden, IE does not dial the modem. Every time when I try to use it, It display a message "URL is not valid..." but it did not dial becaus eI did not hear any thing from the modem.
Any help?

The message you get is because you are not connected to the Internet DNS servers.

The problem is that you modem is not working, so go to control panel, Modems, Diagnostics, click on your modem,  and click More Info.  If your modem is working properly it will report with data retrieved directly from your modem. If you don't get a response from the modem here, remove it and reinstall the driver. If you can't do that, replace it.  If you do get a response from the modem, open your browser and pull down View, Internewt Options, Connection, and click settings to see what modem is selected, select the correct modem.

It could be that your configuration got scrambled, but I'm think your modem took a dive.  Let me know how this turns out.

IE doesn't dial the modem (AUTOMATICALLY??).  Go Start / Settings / Control Panel / Internet and choose CONNECTION and adjust settings as needed to dial your ISP.  eg, make sure CONNECT USING is checked and your ISP DUN info is displayed in the box.
