How to share cd-rom

How to share cd-rom using samba I can share printer files fax ,but I don't know how to setup cd-rom as shared.
Also I have problem witb being unable to login to my server after is left for few houres after I put root and password I don't get anythink and I have to reboot to be able to login (redhat 5.0 )

It works for me with the following configuration:

in /etc/fstab

/dev/hdd      /mnt/cdrom      iso9660      ro,noauto      0      0

in /etc/smb.conf

[cdrom]
      comment = interesting info on cdrom
      path = /mnt/cdrom
      public = yes
      writable = no
      printable = no
      force user = ftp

I think some of this entries are not mandatory to make it work... Anyway, maybe you need to update your samba and mount versions...

About the other problem, have you inspected carefully /var/log/messages and other logs in the same directory?
