Lock Workstation

Is there a workstation lock available for windows 98 or windows 95. You know like ctrl+alt+del to lock the NT Workstation.

No. There is not. Win95 and 98 lack the security features built into WinNT. That's how MS sells so many standalone workstation copie of NT.

However, you might check your BIOS. Some BIOS have security built in to them that do not allow the machine to finish booting without the secret password...

Restart your computer. Watch the screen and you should see an instruction for entering SETUP (either by pressing DELETE or F1 while the instruction is still visible).

Now, look for a menu or option that says Security or Administration. This will vary depending on who wrote the BIOS.

Now, you should be able to set a User and an Administrator password. The user password locks anyone except the Administrator out of the computer. The Administrator password enables overrides on the User password (the adm. can reset the user password to something else).

I'll continue to monitor this in case you have any problem.
