Windows 98 first time boot ?????

Every time Windows 98 boots up on my new hard disk it says it is running Windows for the first time, and takes an age to load.  Previously I loaded Win98 without problem, and it loaded 10 times faster.  I also have a driver problem with my keyboard !!!!????  Any ideas ?  Once booted everything works fine.

boot your system to a dos prompt and then type scanreg it should check your registry and if any problems found, try and correct them by it's self....
