SCSI Internal Microplis 1991 problem - Help!?

Disk begins to have bad clusters.  I low-level format the drive and then run Fdisk, I get the error message:

Write protect error writing fixed disk

Then, I low level the Harddrive again and run Fdisk, everything is fine.  I can format all the partitions and everything works wonderfully.

After about 1 1/2 - 2weeks the disk errors slowly come back getting worse and worse.

If I do the above, the same thing.  It is a continuous cycle.

I am using a Adaptec 2940UW controller card.  Can it really be a faulty HD or something else?

I have done just about everything but change the cable, which was brand new.  It's an Internal HD.

Any help from you experts would be appreciated!

The harddrive is faulty and should be replaced, that drive has 5 yr warranty and should be replaced for free is you call them and obtain an rma # you maybe able to do it via the web. I would get any data you need off the drive before it is to late, the key is the bad clusters, this is a tell tale sign that the drive is in failure mode and you can save you self a headache by having the drive replaced as soon as possible.
