Macintosh: Serial Interface Reset

What happens when a program resets the serial port?
In fact I wish to know which data lines turn to which voltages. I want to switch a relais or transistor
by simply resetting the serial port.
Thank you for answering.

That information is difficult to come by. Your only hope is to ask a developer (pays through the nose each year to acquire such info and signs agreements not to give it away) or find an Apple Certified Tech (also bound by legal mumbo jumbo) willing to give it out.

You may have more luck in the Macintosh programming area of Experts-Exchange.
Check out this book...
"How Macs Work" by John Rizzo & K. Daniel Clark
published by ZD Press  Cost $24.95
Turn to page 138 & page 139
This may or may not get into the detail you want.  But I'll look further into my tech manuals.  I know it's mentioned in more detail in the "Inside Macintosh" series.  Check these out too.
