I recently had a hard drive failure...fortunately I had a back-up of my pst (mailbox.pst).  After re-installing outlook98 on my new harddrive I am unable to get my old pst back...Outlook is not recognizing it as a Personal Folder type.  Any ideas.

You have to remove the Service from Tools - Services and then re-add the service back again. It will ask you to either create a PST file or allow you to load a new one. Just make sure that the account information is the same otherwise you will not be allowed to access the file.

Hope this helps.

Okay...While I thought that my "registration" (which I am assuming is the account info you refer to), it must not be...is there another way of bringing back my data.  Maybe another program that can read the encryption used, etc., so that I can recover?
