Program to get LogIn and Password for Access 97

Has anyone made a small program to get from a user their Access password and login and then take this and a coded Access database password to get into Access?  Basically, for security reasons and own personal preference, I want to keep my Access program as an mdb (not convert into an MDE) and put both a database password and security on it (using an MDW).  The Security has been set up successfully, but to prevent a user to bypass this (by holding down the shift key and double-clicking on the mdb in Windows Explorer) I have had to add a database password.  But, this will mean that the user will have to enter in both passwords which results in 2 screens...  So, basically, I was looking to write a small VB program to get the UserName and password from a user - look it up to the specified mdw, then take a coded in database password to open up Access completely.

I hope that this is explanation enough... if not, please let me know.  Also let me know if I should maybe post this question into the Access area instead.

Your code has given me lots of insight on how VB can use an mdw and I thank you for that.  Unfortunately, I can not rate the answer given as excellent since it did not fully answer my problem of sending a database password.
