hello,
I want to detect when a dail up connection starts, i have tried various components for Delphi 1 but they do not work
i used tapi component.Can any one help? I AM USING DELPHI 1 mit

Try Francois Piette's RASDIAL library, available from http://www.rtfm.be/fpiette/indexuk.htm.  It works with all versions of Delphi (1 through 4) and with BCB 1 and 2.  Support from the author and other users is available from a free subscription mailing list.  It's postcard shareware, so the price is right for a superior product.

wow i wasnt expecting such a quick response
i tried the rasdial component you said and the source is for D2
does this component detect a connection or just call a remote server?Do you know of any other sources?

hey blackdeath do you know how i could do this in delphi 1, i used tapi code it worked for a while but then suddenly it stopped
working,I would really appreciate any help

i'm so sorry. i can't help you with this. never done anything with dial-up services.

but i'm keeping an eye on it. as soon as i've got anything, i'll let ya know.

hm.

looks like there ain't too much for 16bit. is it necessarily supposed to be 16bit?

I found components that work in delphi 32bit like RAS notify and others that are on the delphi super page but none for delphi 1,
i dont know enough about the RAS api to code myself

ah i managed to get hold of a copy of D2 , it was free on front of magazine, lucky!
i think i can now use the rasdail code that dejohn suggested, thanks for your help blackdeath, dejohn99, someone leave answer so i can close question

i live in London, i am 24 years old, i work for time computers and do a bit of casual programming but i love Delphi it makes programming enjoyable not like when i use to try and program in DOS , games etc.Visual basic is ****
