Try Francois Piette's RASDIAL library, available from http://www.rtfm.be/fpiette/indexuk.htm.  It works with all versions of Delphi (1 through 4) and with BCB 1 and 2.  Support from the author and other users is available from a free subscription mailing list.  It's postcard shareware, so the price is right for a superior product.

wow i wasnt expecting such a quick response
i tried the rasdial component you said and the source is for D2
does this component detect a connection or just call a remote server?Do you know of any other sources?

i dont know enough about the RAS api to code myself
