sending Secure Forms

I have a page where a client enters personal information In a form. I am working with ASP files. I need to know if there is a way to make that page and all the information that is sent be secured. I have heard of SSL but don't know a lot about them, how to implement them or how to use them. If anyone can help I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

Yes SSL, is a secure key (158 bits in USA), which allows encrypt informations. You must buy this personal key in an agreemented service in USA (it's expensive!), and they give you a SSL key for a precise DNS. After you configure your site server (for example IIS) with this security and to accessed to this new secure site, you must entry the URL: https://www.<your_site>.com

I am a canadian resident. Will it be the same? will I be able to subscribe? Does it work a bit like Internic? I have read that Verisign, once you subscribe, sends you a digital key. Will that key be used to only one domain name or my whole server? Can you give more information?
