e-mail retrieval

I need to add an automatic e-mail address retrieval to a current script.  Does anyone know how to do that?  Let me know if you need the script or if the code can just be added.  The script reads in from a form and automatically mails results to someone.  The client would like to have the users e-mail address "without" another box added to the form.

Firstly you can use the mailto within the action attribute of the form tag. This will mean that when the user presses the submit button the contents of the form will be emailed to the receipient listed in the tag.

The user will get a prompt that allows them to prevent he email being sent or allows it to go.

If you actually want to avoid the mechanism and send the email from your cgi then you will need to add a new field for the user to enter their email address if you want the sender information.
There is no way around either of these mechanisms which have purposefully been put in place as a security hobble.

If you are prepared to ignore the sender address and wish it to be emailed from your cgi then the script depends on the type of email server that you will be using. Typically you format the email into a temporary file and then issue a system command such as mail, xmail, sendmail, or blat passing the file as a parameter. If you are using MAPI then you wilkl need to open a mapi session the instruct it to send the file.
