variable = Format(Date, mmm). for example gives you Sep
how do I receive the previous month Aug. I have tried:
variable = Format(Date, mmm)- 1, but I get a Type Mismatch
error.

variable = Format$(DateAdd("M", -1, Now), "mmm")
