Password Protection on NT

I have a Web Site on a NT server.  I would like to password protect a few directories so that a user can login and then access any of the pages that I have in any of the directories.  With my unix web site, my host provided me with a utility to set this up.  My NT host doesn't.  How do I go about doing this?  What is needed on the srver?  What code has to be written?  Are there any examples?

Any and all help is appreciated.

Are you using FrontPage?
If not, then you have to contact your NT admin to set those permissions for you, unless you can login interactively (through explorer) in which case you can change them yourself.

I hope I am as clear as your question is.
if you are in doubt, ask me.

Yes, I used FrontPage to develop the site.  I would like to allow the use of passwords for my visitors. Authentication.

you can use the Permissions options of FrontPage to allow certain users to authorize, but your ISP has to create accounts on thee NT server for every one of those users (or one account which is used by all). On Unix, you could do this yourself using Frontpage. For more info search for permissions in the frontpage online help.
