The code you have now work perfectly... No problems at all on both IE4.x and NS4.x

in my NS4, pref/nav/applications:
extension: WAV
file type: audio/x-wav
handled by: MSPLAYER2
but it's still not working.  what can i do? and is the average NS4 surfer going to hear these sounds without reconfiguring their browser?   thank you very much for your time.

if you already have the sound for IE and it werks...its simple...you can create a background sound for pages that will be viewed with netscape by following these instructions
OK you have your Netscape sound HTML already(hopefully) now just add "AUTOSTART=true" to that..if disired type "LOOP=n"...n equaling the number of times..if you want it to play over and over it should be "LOOP=true".it should look like this

<EMBED SRC="sound.url" AUTOSTART=true LOOP=true>

IF the users browser is setup incorrectly, there is NOTHING you can do to make it work... I have plain installations of both IE & NS and like I said, both worked perfectly fine...

ok- as long as the problem is on my end (probably sound card dilemma between all my A/V programs) then it's cool.  if it works for the masses, fine by me.  thanks everybody.  sometime check out my site from the front. www.williamsteffey.com

enjoy and thanks again,
