I have two Compaq 1600 with Imations MediaManager Databases. i would like to mirror or replicate thses databases for redundancy purposes, as well as, have my group hiting one of the sql servers and the rest of my company hitting the other for performance reasons. The two servers will be linked with a crossover fibre cable for there own private Lan. What is out there that is available to do this without affecting the current server too much?

You can setup replication without use of any additional tools. SQL Server has this functionality by itself.

There is mirroring option in SQL server itself, butdue to performace issues I would suggest  to use RAID.

SQL server will not allow you to mirror it on the network, what you would be able to do is configure replication so that your data is always available to all the users. If you use MS Dstributed Transaction Coordinator then you would be able to save all the transactions in both the computers at the same time.
