Server Error on Visual InterDev 6

I have tried many times to create a new web application using Visual InterDev 6, but I keep on getting the following error message:

Server Error: There is no web named "".

If I connect the new web project to the existing project that is on my personal web server, everything works fine, however, I am trying to make my new project separate from the exist project on my web server.

I am running IIS 4 with Front Page extension and ASP.  My computer is a internal web server use for creating/editing.

Please explain what the "Server error" message mean and how I can create a new web project without connecting it to the existing existing project on the web server.  (I have tried numerous times following the instructions line by line for about a week and I still can't get it to work.)  Any help to resolve this problem is most appreciated.

Just wondering what you have tried.  It seems when you are naming your project, that name is being lost somewhere and it is trying to open a project with no name.  check in InetPub to see if your attempts at creating a project have reulted in named project folders and i would still reinstall if you haven't tried that yet.

I have tried to create many test projects using different names and placing them in the InetPub folder and also in my personal folder, but all my attempts failed.  The farthest I've gotten with creating a new project wizard was naming the new project, select it as a new web application and then selecting the layout.  After I click 'finish', the error message appears saying "Server error: There is no web named ""."

If, instead, I choose to connect the new project to my existing web application that I am running on my personal web server, the project would load.  However, this is not exactly what I want because any modification that I make on the projecct will also effect my existing web application.

Please suggest any ideas that you think would help.

Have you tried to reinstall, I had similar problems and when I resinstalled it worked fine.  I reinstalled option 4, you may want to also reinstall interdev.  I know it sounds lame but unless you tried this it may save you alot of grief.
