agp vs. pci

I just upgraded to an AMD K6-2 333 and now want to upgrade my 3d card. My motherboard is a FIC VA-503+ and it has an AGP port. I was set to buy a monster II but have been reading that AGP was the way to go. I know nothing about AGP and need info on how to upgrade to it or advise on whether or not I should stick with the monster II.

I just did an upgrade with the AMD K6-333 3D Now, and an FIC 503 M/B.  I installed the ATI Xpert 98 AGP card.  Installing the card is as any othe pci or isa, just put it in.  The customer uses Autocad, and the rendering with the AGP seemed substantially faster.  I do not have any experience with the monster II, I hope this helps you out.

I use my computer to play games that require 3dfx ( EA Sports titles) .Is an AGP card compatible with 3dfx graphics?

Roid,

If you want game performance, stick with the Voodoo II.  It will give you better performance than any AGP card on the market today in games.

If you want to find out about AGP and the Voodoo, go here:
