Win98 bootup prob

when I bootup now, I keep getting a problem saying
C:\window\system\vmm32.vxd missing or unable to load

I've done nothing to it, and like, it's still there
had the problem before and had to reformat
pls help

but I just started to get this problem...
I've added no new hardware...
and the strange thing is, it only comes up sometimes,....at times it doesn't come up at all
Darkmage,,,if you still need answer to this I have it, r u running 350 mhz or higher processer?

6.4 gig HDD


where do I get these VXD's anyways?
I tried the proposed answer, and i got an error mesage saying it couldn't locate the VXD
okay if u r running 300mhz it is the same fix,,are u using a umax scanner,,if you are then go to www.umax.com and downloadl the patch to fix your problem about 25kb with instructions to install..had the same problem with mine,,after installing patch for scanner have not had problem anymore....hope this helps..
