disable sounds?

Is it possible to turn off the sounds of the modem dialing and computer talk,when you first use the modem?

go to control panel, modems and then click on the modem which you want to adjust.

then go to properties and then reduce the speaker volume to off. then go to your dialup connection and make sure that you have choosen this modem and not another one.

if this doesn't work, go to the properties again and click on the connection tab on the top. then click on the advanced button on the bottom and make sure that the init string (extra settings) there doesn't turn the speaker volume on.
