Edited text of question
which vxd file?
Free Tool: ZipGrep

ZipGrep is a utility that can list and search zip (.war, .ear, .jar, etc) archives for text patterns, without the need to extract the archive's contents.

Look for updated printer drivers.
Read the Printers.txt file in the Windows directory.

i have downloaded the latest drivers HP has to offer
Delete the printer and every instance of it from within the registry.
Then reinstall it.

I firend of mine had a similar case of this but with a HP Laserjet 4MV printer.
IF that does not work, I ask, have you updated anything like TCP/IP but not winsock or something like that.
