file uploads

Customer Service Question
   Title: "File uploads"

I can only access thr Internet from behind a company firewall. I
want to get my own
domain on the internet but I will not be able to ftp any files to it
thru the firewall.
How can I get a file upload facility (like the one in geocities) so I
can get files to
my domain? I assume CGI -bin would be the way but I
wouldn't have a
clue how to go about it.

To upload files through HTTP protocol you need ability
to execute YOUR cgi scripts on WWW server and browser like a Netscape >=3.0 or MSIE >=4.0 But the directory for file uploading should by writable for HTTPD daemon (or world-writable). But this is bad idea. So you should use setuided script. Or you can upload files in other dir, than your http home and then immediately move it to ones with corrected write permissions.

Many different CGI scripts for file uploading you can find at

I did not understand the entire answer, however Strange pointed
me to the right URL and I found the file upload utility I
was after.

Thanks
