I got a new cd-r from Sony (cdu948) & my SCSI card is symbios logic 810. After I install a software for my cd-r this message come out "ASPI could not initialised" when I used wizard pro cd-r program. When I used Adaptec easy cd-pro V 2.11 I got this message "SCSI initialised failed. In order to run this program U must have WNASPI32.DLL installed & started. (Code 220-11-00-00)".

So how can fix this problem? Do I had a wrong SCSI card?

I already download the file(WNASPI32.DLL) from internet when I copy it to my widows system directory the error message is still come up.

If I need another SCSI card is adaptec 1520 is compatible with my cd-r or I need aha 294?

Thanks for your help

i suggest that you go to the adaptec site, www.adaptec.com and download the newest ASPI drivers. it comes in a nice self installing file which asks you to confirm installation etc. try that and then see how it works out.

You must first get your SCSI card working. The adaptec recording software won't work because of this. First, check in Device Manager to see if there are any conflicts with the SCSI Controller. If you don't have this section at all, you must use "Add New Hardware" in the control Panel. If the card is Plug-N-Play, first try to let Windows detect it. If not, you will have to manually select it. Do you not have the original install disks for the SCSI card? If not, try to download it from the manufacturer. I'm guessing that you might have to install the DOS drivers for your card.

The ASPI drivers will do you no good if the computer doesn't have the SCSI card first installed. Merely copying the file WNASPI32.DLL to the windows system directory or extracting the latest ASPI driver won't work.

Your current SCSI card or the Adaptec 15xx are sufficient, but slower then the Adaptec AHA 2940. Also, the 2940 allows for a bootable SCSI hard drive, while the other 2 don't.
