When loading my internet software on my Powerbook 170 with OS 7.5 I get "the application "unknown" has unexpectedly quit because an error of type 15 occured."  Why has this happened and how do I fix it?

Error type 15 is defined as a segment missing error, which in layman's terms simply means that an application has become corrupted. This error can also be incorrectly shown in the case of an incompatibility with your system that the developer of the application either didn't know about or handled incorrectly. The remedy I would suggest would be to rebuild your desktop file (Cmd-Opt at startup), turn off all your extensions (Shift at startup), and run the installer again. If that still doesn't work, it's unlikely that it will ever work at all.
