I am wanting to put a program on a CD. How can I create an AutoPlay insert notification. i.e. so the CDRom starts up and goes straight to my application?

This way:

Place a file like this in the root.

Example: File name; Autorun.inf

[autorun]
open = MyProgram.exe

And to make the CD have an Icon:

[autorun]
Icon=MyProgram.exe,0  <------- if the exe has any icon inside.
Open=MyProgram.exe

if your exe doesn't have any icon, then:

[autorun]
Icon=MyIcon.ico
Open=MyProgram.exe

remember that it must be in a file called " Autorun.inf " in the root dir of the cd.

To bryan7

Thanks for quick response.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I can't afford to waste too many CD's in experimenting.

Can I create the Autorun.inf in say Notepad?

Also, what if my exe is in a directory, called say 'Mine'. Would I have to write
[autorun]
Icon=MyProgram.exe,0
Open=Mine\MyProgram.exe
??

Look forward to hearing from you

You can do it:

[AUTORUN]
OPEN=programs\program.exe
ICON=main\images\image.ico

your program and icon can be in any directory.
And if you included any Icon inside your program, then you can use it.
(icon=program.exe,0)

hope it helps.
